  Fainting :

The other day I was at the shops and I fainted clean onto the floor. I think it was a bad smell or something. I was extremely embarrassed at the time, but now I am starting to think about the fact that the baby would have been starved of blood for a couple of minutes. Is there a possibility that the baby is affected?

Although dizziness is extremely common, actually fainting is not a normal part of pregnancy and you should contact your doctor. However, it is extremely unlikely that the fainting spell had any negative effect on your baby. The flow of blood to your own brain may have been reduced, but it is unlikely that the baby was also affected.
