Breastfeeding – Shape of breasts :

It feels selfish to ask this, but will breastfeeding ruin the shape of my breasts?

Contrary to popular belief, it is the pregnancy hormones and not the act of breastfeeding which changes the shape of a woman’s breasts. The best way to protect your breasts during this time is to wear a really well fitting support bra.

The good news is that there is now compelling evidence to suggest that breastfeeding protects women against breast cancer. This protection seems to be optimized by slow weaning when you no longer wish to breast feed. It seems that even a very short period of breastfeeding can confer some protection.
